Curriculum

Curriculum at S.F. Kids Academy is both thematic and play-based.  Thematic planning ensures that there is a continual theme running throughout the preschool on a monthly basis. This ensures consistency and supports child learning.  Play based curriculum strengthens what children do best, learn.  Children learn through play.  They develop social skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, reasoning skills, coping skills, and problem solving skills.

San Francisco Kids Academy also focuses on Kindergarten readiness skills.  These include pre reading skills, pre math skills, physical development, and social development.  These skills ensure a child’s learning as they are prepared for the cognitive and social environment that is seen in Kindergarten.

Our curriculum also includes art and music.  Art is centered around the monthly theme, encourages children to be creative, and is held daily.  Music is also held daily and gives children another creative avenue in which to express themselves.

Occasional field trips are also a part of the curriculum at San Francisco Kids academy.  Field trips are taken to enhance and make connections to things previously learned at school.
